Transporting Gigs to the Islands 2013

Gigs are transported by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Company from Penzance to St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly on either the Gry Maritha or Scillonian III return.

Gigs will be charged £132.00 each this includes return transport of the gig to Holgates Green.  This is reliant on 8 members travelling per club and the trailer displaying our advertising panel. Gigs not displaying the advertising panel will be refused carriage. Should you require an advertising panel please call 0845 710 5555 and the Steamship Company will be happy to make the necessary arrangements.

For clubs who wish to travel by alternative means there will be a charge of £305.00 + VAT for each gig carried.

Please be aware that the Steamship Company are no longer able to insure the gigs whilst in transit. The Isles of Scilly Steamship Company recommends that all Gig Clubs ensure that each boat has adequate insurance cover. All gigs will be carried at ‘Sole Owners Risk’.

To arrange dates of travel for your gigs please contact Debbie Hunt on 01736 334236 during normal working hours. Debbie can also advise if there are any queries with regard to transportation of gigs, sailing times and relevant fares.

For safety reasons gigs must only contain paddles, seats, pins etc. for transportation.
